Pink and Green; fit for a queen

A familiar storyline of rags to riches has played out at this project site, with a once tired old home with tiny uneven rooms tacked onto a traditional workers cottage. The footings were shot, the walls were wonky and describing it as ‘functional’ in real estate terms was putting it politely.

Let’s just say demolition day was well overdue and greatly celebrated by the Owners.

Once the mess of poor renovations in years gone by was demolished, the home was extended out to incorporate modern living, with an open plan kitchen, dining and living opening onto a beautiful new alfresco deck. Internally a well-appointed new bathroom was crafted and a laundry with storage added to the rear.

Aside from the bedrooms at the front, this is almost a new home, but thanks to thoughtful styling by the loving Owners, the charm of this beauty was not lost. The internal appointment has been sympathetic to its era whilst brining in the touches of colour, personality and modern life that make a house a home.

The new bathroom is a perfect example of this and a wonderful place to steal ideas if you are thinking of making your home more liveable. From the traditional styling of a clawfoot bath inside a modern open shower space, to classic choices of black and gold with the very in fashion terrazzo style pink feature tiles. It’s sleek and clean whilst achieving personality and wow.

A green kitchen and a pink fridge…who would have thought this colour combination would look so good and suit an old workers cottage in Seddon. Paired with stone benchtops and a country style cooker, this room has again nailed the blend of new, old and personal taste. Opening directly onto the living space and looking out to the rear garden through square pane sliding doors.

The rear deck is concealed fix merbau with a full height pitched roof. It feels like an outdoor room and true extension of the home, the perfect place for a summer afternoon.
